Surely you have had the pleasure of receiving an invite from a friend that looked similar to one of the groups to the left. A friend has lost their phone! Based on cause and effect–they have likely lost all their contacts. They certainly want to keep in touch and thus delivered to your email is an invite to join this group where you can share your number with them–perhaps even once again.
If their contacts had been on the Google “cloud,” they would have had all of their contacts available to them and could have easily synced them back to their replacement phone in mere minutes.
Moving your contacts to Google
You’ll need a Google account and a compatible platform:

First log in to your Google account. Then access your Mail account. Click “Contacts” on the left side of the window. Now you can click on the “New Contact” icon to get started. It is up to you how much information you want to enter for each contact. Typically, a name, number, and email will be adequate. Now continue this process until you have all of your contacts stored (may take some time–do it in batches–then take a break). Once your done, reward yourself as the hard work is done.
